Rainfall + Resilience

Louisiana has experienced non-stop rain and storms.  It has not skipped a day since....????  I'm exaggerating.  Slightly.  Regardless, the rain and storms have been incessant.  While storms can be inconvenient (all of my shoes are currently water logged), it can also be surprisingly beneficial.  The rainy weather has kept the summer heat at bay and the environment well nourished.  I'm not sure I have seen this color green in conjunction with a summer...ever.

In phases of life where you feel as if the "rain" just won't stop coming down on you, consider shifting perspective by implementing the following resilient steps:

1. Build AWARENESS and OPTIMISM by reflecting and actively seeking what benefits you are experiencing even within the storm.

2. Build CONNECTION and STRENGTHS OF CHARACTER by finding someone to empathize with. You aren't the only one experiencing the difficulties of life, so find time to focus externally and support someone else in their rainy season.

3. Build SELF-REGULATION and MENTAL AGILITY by setting a goal to pursue that can start now. This step can help you grab control when and where you can, even among the most uncertain of times.
