NUTRITION + SISTER LOVE

One of the loves of my life and twin sister, Ashley, is getting her certification in nutrition.  I volunteered to be one of her clients as she finishes up her studies and capstone requirements.  Becoming a client bodes well for Ashley and me.  For Ashley, she will be gaining hands-on experience as she applies the very principles of her learning and newly-acquired knowledge.  For me, this provides an opportunity to achieve new feats, test my willpower, and stretch my capabilities.  ABOVE ALL ELSE, for me, this provides the chance to witness my sister in her element: doing something she loves as she guides and supports people in their critical journeys towards health, confidence, and vitality!

When I found out Ashley was looking for clients, I figured I was the perfect candidate for Ashley because of the following:

  • Simply put, setting goals is a part of who I am.  In this case, I have the goal of building back muscle I lost through the pandemic (or through the lack of discipline across time. The jury is still out on this one...)
  • I am vegan; therefore, I thought this might give Ashley a different challenge that other clients may not.
  • I enjoy the learning process that comes along with consulting with experts in their fields.  Ashley can teach me more about macros, micros, and all the other intricacies of nutrition, eating, and fueling for performance.
  • I hate going to bed knowing I didn't give my best effort in my pursuits.  I can give my best efforts to this.
  • I am a sucker for experimentation.  The Scientific Method is masterful in eliminating what's untrue or doesn't hold up in this world. This nutritional experiment will highlight what doesn't work for me, revealing more about what does work.
  • I love my sister, and want to see her succeed in her efforts, passions, and dedication.

This process got me thinking on 3 very distinct take-aways:
  1.  Who can you support that would progress their work?  What would your support look like?
  2.  Is there an area of life where you need or want refinement?  Who can help you refine?
  3.  What opportunity is currently out there that can result in a win-win for you and the other party (or parties)?
